Timperley Tigers have started and played almost half of a new season since this site was last updated. Last season we
were promoted and got off to a flying start in the higher league, winning the first four or five games. Everything was going
fine until we came up against the three teams above us in succession (Not-Athletic, Inter Milanchester and Brazil-Nil) and
suffered three straight defeats. This was followed by another defeat at the hands of a very well-organised team that would
not look out of place in the African desert! Anyway, we got back to winning ways after this and have now won three on the
trot, the latest victory being a very hard-thought battle against a team of muppets that were very easily wound up; not least
by our newest recruit in the form of Mike Bailey. This guy took the piss out of the ref all game, committing some discraceful
fould on the sly, which eventually ended up in him being given a yellow card and a five minute sinbin! It was worth it for
the comedy value alone! This game ended up 6-5, with Deano grabbing a hat-trick (i think), Blaine, Bailey and someone else
getting on the scoresheet. This week's game comes to you at 7pm against god-knows who. Lets hope the lads can keep up the
good form and hopefully Paul, who has been out with a random injury for the last six weeks or so, will return to action.
He has been sorely missed at the heart of the defence, although he would most probably have been sent off at least once had
he been playing the last few weeks!

5 - 4 Playmaker
A great performance all round tonight with Tom having his best game this half of the season. Some superb passing betweent
the defense drew out playmaker and si and martin were left to spring the attack. An early finish from Si set the lads off
with Playmaker answering back. Then Chicken boy piped up by trying to intimidate si. Shame really would have been scared if
he was more than 4ft tall. After the ridiculous farse that took place. Si then managed to win a penalty for nothing which
actually should have been an indirect freekick if it was obstruction. ah well paul slotted hom comfortably. Blaine then scored
from a daft angle to the keepers right. half time brought an all out attack in return from playmaker and resulted in an early
goal. Wayne then scored making it 4-2 playmaker managed to claw themselves back to 4-4 then overcommited in the last minute
as si tackled and put paul in for a quality finish 5-4 the last minute was spent backs to the wall defending.
Mom: Tom
Tom 9 - some absolute class saves and good contol of the play
Wayne 9 - great control of play and superb interplay with paul
Paul 9 - Good tackling and passing rewarded with penalty and an excellent finish to win the game
Si 7 - Managed to wind up the opposition more than anyone scored, won a pen, had a goal disallowed but hit the post
3 times.
Martin 7 - good control of play great passing to retain posetion but struggled with the pace of the defence.
Bliane 8 - Although he thought he had a shit game he scored and defended well. lost the ball a few times but did enough
in attack to cause problems.
7 - 5 some bag of wank team
We were without dean who has developed some imaginary injury which allows him to run around and kick a football at half
time but not during the game (strange?). Wayne made his debut in deanos place and scored a hatrick. The first a rebound from
a si off the board set up. The second a side foot past the keeper and the third an excuisite finish curle into the front
post from around the halfway line. Si managed to get himself sent off for nothing at all. Blaine and paul were solid in defense
for the whole first half and then it went to pot with the oppostion scoring some pathetic goals. Si chipped in with his usual
goal, Paul added another and then blaine tied up the points with a late strike.
Mom: Blaine
Tom - 7 Ok not his best performance but did enough
Blaine - 9 one of his best matches some good solid tackling and a good finish.
Paul - 8 worked hard but got caught out when going forward.
Wayne - 8 worked hard plenty of shots and rewarded with debut hatrick
Martin - 7 struggled to find form played some sensible passing football
Si - 6 scored 1 set 1 up but managed to get sent off although god knows how
4 - 4 Barclays
On a night where the whole team played absolute barclays (wank) we still deserved a win against shit opposition. After
taking a two goal lead the team proceeded to defend like a bunch of pussies. That includes myself. Tom gifted them a goal
with a poor clearance and Blaine scored a stunning own goal which trickled past tom at the pace of a snail on sedatives. still
other teams around the tigers lost on the night and no loss of position was surrendered
cant remember Mom or any thing like that
Goals:
Blaine 1 (2) if you count the OG
Si 2
Martin 1
6-5 Eccentrica
We were shite! The team sheet was a shambles from the outset. Paul was missing for some daft party- who the fuck has
a party on a wednesday?- bloody kids party i bet the filthy pedda. Big Ben took his place at the heart of the tigers defence.
Tom si dean ben and blaine made the rest of the team sheet on a night where the fan base was non existant. The game started
in a farsical way with eccentica taking the lead after only minutes gone. Piss poor defending was the cause. Si brought the
boys level again with a cool strike on the move. Eccentrica scored again from some sloppy passing from the tigers. some
swift passing from martin and Si then found dean clean through on goal who slipped the ball round the keeper. The game settled
down until Tom who up until this point had been fairly solid threw the ball to the attack not once but twice resulting in
a goal for eccentrica. After this tom made up for it by playing a precise ball off the board which si finished accross
the keeper with one touch. Dean who was having little impact on the game then opened up the defense for si to smash a goal
into the corner. Eccentrica took the lead again from another bad pass from the boys. Si made way for blaine and who levelled
the boys up with a strike which the keeper fluffed. 5-5 with 1 minute to go si took the field again and ran at the heart of
the defence. A free kick was given with 15seconds on the clock. Si spotted Dean spinning off his marker and played a
precision pass into his pass which he rifled into the corner. Last minute winner for the tigers!
Mom- Si
Tom- 8 bloody good apart from his throwing out
Ben B - 7 good quality passing and tackling prevented tom from getting peppered
Blaine - 8 Played well through his cold and was rewarded with a goal
Dean - 7 Struggled on the night looked pretty tame with his movement and skills not quite working however managed
to score two.
Martin - 7 some good tracking back and passing retaining the ball well.
Ben H - 6 not the best game hes had got stuck in well but lost the ball in some bad positions
Si - 8 drove the team through a difficult match and scored three goals caused problems when going forward and scored
three goals and set up both deanos
4 - 7 inter milanchester
The team started the match knowing that if they lost the teams would swap positions in the table. This meant that the
tigers were under alot of pressure from a team who hadnt lost a game so far this season. A nervous start from the boys saw
a terrible mix up and a dodgy referee-ing decision cost the tigers a goal. From this point on it was always going to be a
struggle as the opposition proved hard to break down. Milanchester scored two more without reply with some lack luster passing
from the tigers costing valuable goals. Paul then picked up the ball on the half way line and toe poked a shot into the bottom
left. Si who had tested the keeper a few times unsucessfully was then put through by a ball from tom off the boards and in
one touch finished cooly. Paul then found himself clear on the left and drilled a shot into the bottom right. Milanchester
then replied by putting four more past a slow looking tigers defence as they attacked in numbers. Si was then found in the
clear fifty fifty with the keeper. He got there first and flicked the ball over his legs and was taken down. gaining
a penalty for the tigers and a small concussion as he was fired like a dart head fisrt into the boards. Paul slotted home
the penalty to complete his hatrick. Tom made some quality saves throughout the game but the tigers struggled to keep on top
of a fast attacking force.
Mom- Paul but only because of the hatrick.
Tom - 9 was unlucky with the first and the team left him exposed as they ventured for the equalisers
Paul- 9 some quality goals but was frustrated by the opposition defensively
Martin- 6 struggled to make an impact on the game some good challenges but struggled with the pace
Si -8 could have done more defensively but mixed it up sufficiently scored and won a penalty for the team
Dean- 6 out of sorts struggled with the physical presence of the opposition and couldnt pull off his usuall bag of tricks
Blaine -7 some good challenges but left exposed at the back too often against quality attack
8 - 2 Gemini
A full team was fielded for only the second time this season and it produced another gem of a performance. A starting
line up of tom si paul blaine and dean started the tigers off at a sprint with 2 early goals from twinkle toes up front deaano.
A change was then made with paul and si making way for martin and ben which created a goal for blaine and then one for martin.
A goal for the quiet gemini came late in the first halfwith some sloppy defending all round. At half time gemini were 4-1
down and lucky to be that. If it hadnt been for a string of saves from their keeper it could have easily been double that.
A charge from gemini then insued with a goal coming just after half time and the tigers fighting for possesion. From
the kick off dean reinstalled the defesit and proceeded to taunt si as he was now ahead in the golden boot race. Si then
returned to the pitch to begin the lat night simon show with three goals from intercepted passes. Tom had very little to do
but gather the ball at the other end although he claims he was tired. Only his right hand though coincidentally- strange that?
mom - Ben
Tom - 8 very little to do but wank but he must have been doing that well to get so tired
Blaine - 9 solid as a rock and growing in his role with every game good finish for his goal
Paul - 8 good tackling as usual and quality posessional play controlled the game unlike his temper
Si - 9 three goals hard work and good support play
Ben - 10 what an improvement maybe he has finally found what to do with his feet (took him a while to find his dick
though so we know hes a slow learner)
Deano - 9 three goals and some excellent passing and movement opening up holes in the defense for others
Martin - 9 collected his goal and played out of his skin filling in at the back and creating going forward
there keeper - 20 how the hell we didnt score about 18 was unbelievable.
4 - 4 Not Athletic
The game started with si off the pitch and after some 5 minutes of good passing but little movement from the boys a mistake
was made allowing the opposition to score. Dean swiftly pulled one back for the tigers. A switch in personel found si replacing
martin and immediately rounding one player and drilling the ball against the post. A swift move found dean in space who put
the tigers in front. Some good work all round was spoilt when the ball was lost lazily and not athletic managed to bring the
scores level again. not athletic scored again as a blatent foul was ignored by the ref. si scored from a clever pass
to himself off the back wall. (its not the first and it wont be the last time i hit the back wall) not athletic used some
dirty tactics to regain the ball dean and si leaving paul and blain in a difficult 3 on 2 situation which resulted in the
lead being taken again by not athletic. Dean then strung some quality play together hitting the crossbar and then paul hitting
the post. Finally dean finished a good piece of indiviual play evening the scores at 4 - 4. Tom kept the tigers in the game
in the last minute with a wonderful stop in a one on one situation.
Mom - Dean would normally get this but was a little self indulgent with the ball at vital times. So this one goes to
Tom who kept the lads in the game.
Tom - 9 some great saves and good use of the ball kept the tigers in tact.
Paul - 8 solid as usual but lost out on a few challenges.
Blaine - 7 quiet game for blaine made his tackles and passes.
Martin - 8 good solid passing and some good defending and tracking back.
Si - 8 lost the ball too often to some bad tactics from the opposition got his usual goal and created two of deans
Dean - 9 good comeback from dean although he still cant dress himself. 3 good goals and a heap ful of chances. Only gripe
is the lack of simple passing when under pressure.
5 - 3 Playmaker
In general, good solid, gritty performance. Once again, the Tigers had a slow start and the opposition
were on top for the first few minutes but they soon began to dominate. Playmaker were a tough team but with Simon Long up
front (replacing Dean at the K/O, who had no shorts), contributing four of the goals, there was no stopping the Tigers.
Quite how the other goal came about from Blaine remains to be seen, with the keeper somehow letting the ball through and over
his body in the same movement!! Absolutely solid defending from Paul today, even after being roughed up by their Duracell
Bunny at the back. Ever-reliable Martin appeared to be in his element against the midfield-less opposition. Nice one lads!
Goal of the game- one of Simon's four! (or maybe even Blaine's for the comical value)
Dean- 8 didn't play most of the game, but failed to get on the scoresheet for the first time
in a while
Blaine- 5 what a shocker! Not played so bad in ages. Improvement needed next week.
Paul- 9 solid, never backed out of a tackle and got really stook in to hold the opposition at bay.
Strong going forward.
Si- 10 brilliant. Must have had his Weetabix as he never stopped for the whole game. Scored four,
and could have had more!
Martin- 8 good all-round game from Martin, kept his head up and gave 100%
Tom- 9 didn't have much to do apart from collect the ball from the defense a few times. One or two
good quality saves.
Dean's mum- 10/10
Team performance- keep up the good work 10/10
mom- Si probable shades it with the goals scored, closely followed by Paul.
10 - 4 Sale Allstars
What a performance from the boys an excellent game from everybody this week. After a slow start the tigers began to dominate
after the first five minutes with dean rocketing in 4 early goals and blaine adding to them before half time. A tigers team
full of confidence started an on-slaught in the second half with a 30yrd torpedo from si giving an early contender for goal
of the season. Martin added another quality finish and the game was tied up by three more from the ginger one. Lets not forget
the quality of the goalkeeping and defending which left the allstars little to do other than watch a masterclass.
mom- Dean
goal of the game- si (sorry lads got to milk it for all its worth dont see many of them)
Paul - 9 absolute rock in defense great passing and vision
tom - 9 didnt have much to do but was solid when tested and provided quality service to the team
martin- 9 good movement and passing with an improvement in his defensive game becoming a part of his game.
Dean- 10 what a masterclass from the man of the day setting the tigers off on the road to victory.
Blaine- 9 good tackling and superb passing setting up others around him with a well taken goal under his belt
Si - 9 stunning goal only a small haul this week and some quality defending too.
team performance 10/10 keep this going and were on for good things.
5-4 Barclays
Ahard faught first game of the season saw the tigers suffer from two early conceeded goals one a classic own
goal from Tom. A revival was then started with a goal from si. Dean then levelled the scores before barclays managed
another two. some good tactical substitutions saw the tigers revive themselves with three goals without reply
leaving barclays stunned and the tigers with five minutes to hold the game scoreline. This was done comfortably by some whole
hearted defending.
Tom - 7 kept the tigers in the game early on but one clanger ruined his day.
Paul - 9 good strong defending as usual maybe lucky to survive the match.
Blaine - 8 good quality game strong tackling and passing
Dean - 8 struggled a little with the rash defending of barclays however got his goals and took them well.
Si - 9 battled well and got two goals from his defensive role
Ben - 7 good performance some good passing lacked a little aggression on the night.
Martin - 8 good control and tracking back when required some solid football both attacking and defending.
Team performance - good start 9/10
mom. sorry lads im having this one for a change.
